Family of Marsupial Centaurs and other birthday poems is a collection of 80 poems written as part of the 1408 pieces that comprised J.P. Dancing Bear’s Birthday Poems Project on Facebook. The works are homages, partially ekphrastic and often using quotes and other facts found on the honoree’s Facebook wall. Common themes in the book are cycles, renewal, retrospection, and outlook, thus moving beyond being poems merely written to individuals but poems written to everyone with a birthday.
